Filed · 3 publisher pages · upstream origin unresolved

Trump envoys Kushner and Witkoff meet Zelensky in Kyiv as peace talks continue amid ongoing conflict. The meeting follows talks with Putin in Moscow and marks their first visit to Kyiv as US negotiators.

Kushner and Witkoff traveled from Moscow where they held three hours of talks with Putin on Sept 5. They met Zelensky and other Ukrainian officials in Kyiv on Sept 6. European national security advisors were also present.

Zelensky emphasizes the need for security guarantees and a dignified post-war peace. Ukrainian officials stress the importance of US involvement in any peace deal. The talks aim to address key issues including the future of Donbas.

Ukraine has intensified air strikes against Russian targets, including an attack on a Russian oil refinery. Both sides have paused strikes on each other's cities, but the ground war remains largely static.
