Saudi authorities have arrested a suspect involved in an attempted plane crash after a flydubai flight was rerouted to Saudi Arabia. The incident involved two pilots who were found wounded after a reported fight during a flight bound for Tel Aviv. All passengers were reported safe and accounted for.

The incident occurred when a flydubai flight was rerouted to Saudi Arabia after the pilots were found wounded. A passenger reported that one of the pilots tried to stab the other while the plane was en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv. The co-pilot was believed to have attempted to murder the pilot and carry out a suicide attack on the plane.

The Israeli prime minister confirmed that one of the pilots was arrested and being questioned by Saudi authorities. The incident comes as tensions are high across West Asia, amid the regional war that erupted in late February with US-Israeli strikes on Iran. The event also occurs just ahead of close-fought Israeli elections due to be held at the end of October.

An Israeli official has identified the attacker as an Omani national, Reuters is reporting. The co-pilot of a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv is believed to have stabbed the captain in a possible attempted 'terror attack'.
