Russia targets Kyiv bridges again as attacks intensify

Filed · 3 publisher pages · upstream origin unresolved

Russian forces struck the Northern Bridge in Kyiv on Oct 3, damaging road surfaces and halting traffic. The attack follows similar strikes on the Southern Bridge and marks a escalation in Russian attacks on key infrastructure in the capital.

The strike on the Northern Bridge, which connects Kyiv's two halves, occurred amid reports of drones approaching the city. Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed two people were injured and that the bridge's surface and power lines were damaged.

Experts suggest the attacks are more about disrupting traffic and exerting psychological pressure than destroying infrastructure. Both bridges serve as major traffic arteries, with tens of thousands of residents passing over them daily.

A Kyiv resident described the ongoing attacks as 'terror' and warned of the city's worsening situation. The city is facing intensified Russian attacks that are reshaping daily life and threatening to paralyze movement across the capital.
