Polish police have detained a man suspected of plotting to assassinate Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz. The arrest follows an emergency meeting by security services after a tip-off about a potential attack.
The man, identified as Jacek Dobrzynski, was arrested in Lower Silesia. Security officials said the threat was treated as deadly serious, with police tracking the suspect through online content.
Poland remains on high alert after a wave of school attacks, with 117 people detained for carrying knives or threatening schools. Tusk blamed online glorification of violence for the surge in attacks, noting a rise in searches for far-right content.
Tusk said the attacks were spontaneous, not part of an organized group. Authorities continue checks at schools to prevent copycat incidents, as the country faces rising security threats from hybrid attacks by Russia.
