Netanyahu's bloc falls short in Israeli election, no clear winner

Filed · 3 publisher pages · upstream origin unresolved

Netanyahu's bloc secures 55 seats but falls short of a majority in Israeli election. No clear winner emerges as both major blocs fail to secure 61 seats needed for majority.

After 51.8% of ballots were counted, Netanyahu's bloc was shown to have 55 of the 120 seats in the parliament. Partial results suggest that Eisenkot-led Opposition bloc would have enough seats for a majority if there was a coalition agreement with the Arab parties.

The election results could lead to weeks of political wrangling to form a government. Neither bloc can form a government alone, and smaller parties could become key players in coalition negotiations. Final results could take days to determine.

Eisenkot has ruled out forming a government with Arab parties, complicating his path to power. Both blocs face challenges in securing a majority, with no clear winner emerging from the election.
