Marko Kričak and Boško Sekulović have been detained for 30 days by a higher court in Belgrade. The detention was ordered following allegations that they may obstruct the investigation by influencing witnesses. The decision was announced by the Higher Court in Belgrade, which cited specific circumstances indicating a risk of interference with the proceedings.
The two officers were detained on November 1 after being accused of abusing their official positions in connection with the murder of Aleksandra Nešović in a restaurant in Senjak. The investigation alleges that they exceeded their authority and failed to perform their duties, causing harm and damaging the rights of former Police Chief Veselina Milić. The court has also noted that Sekulović allegedly filed a false report against Saše V, implicating Milić in the murder.
The Higher Court has ordered that the decision on the detention can be appealed to the Special Court for Combating Corruption in the Higher Court within three days. The case involves charges of abuse of power and possible assault and torture, with detailed allegations of physical abuse by Kričak in the police station on May 16, 2026. The court has also raised concerns about the handling of evidence related to Milić's phone and other devices.
The court has also noted that Kričak was previously accused of assault and coercion by a student, Nikolina Sinđelić, in connection with a student protest in August 2025. However, these allegations are not part of the current charges against Kričak. The court has emphasized that the current detention is based on specific circumstances that suggest a risk of interference with the investigation.
