Israel's election leaves no clear majority as coalition talks begin

Filed · 3 publisher pages · upstream origin unresolved

Israel's election results show no clear majority, with both Netanyahu's and Eisenkot's blocs failing to secure enough seats for a government. The Knesset may face a prolonged period without a majority as coalition negotiations begin.

Netanyahu's bloc is projected to win 54 seats, while Eisenkot's opposition bloc is expected to secure 50. The Arab-led parties Ra'am and the Joint List could hold the balance of power, with combined support estimated at between 16 and 19 seats.

The formation of a government remains challenging due to political barriers, with both Netanyahu and opposition leaders ruling out coalitions with Arab parties. Israel may face another election if no coalition can be formed within the 28-day window.
