Harvey Weinstein Gets 15-Year Prison Sentence for Sexual Assault

Harvey Weinstein, a disgraced Hollywood producer, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for sexual assault. The sentence follows a retrial after his previous conviction was overturned.

Weinstein, 74, was found guilty of a criminal sexual act against former production assistant Miriam Haley in a Manhattan trial. The sentencing came more than a year after his 2020 conviction was overturned by New York's highest court.

The sentence marks the second time Weinstein has been sentenced in the Miriam Haley case. He was previously convicted in 2020 but the conviction was overturned in 2024 for a fair trial.

Weinstein is awaiting sentencing in a separate case in California where he was convicted of raping an actress in 2013. An appeals court ordered him to be re-sentenced in that case after the New York convictions were overturned.
